Global Hall of Fame in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The Dr. John Fitzgerald Williams 2025 Global Hall of Fame Award Ceremony will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on November 29, 2025. Registration is $200 per person; a $7 online convenience fee will be added for online payments. Registration cost includes registration fee, award, certificate, induction, and dinner at the reception. Hotel accommodation is not included in this fee. The deadline to register and pay is October 10, 2025. Absolutely no registrations will be accepted after October 15, 2025. Date of the award ceremony: November 29, 2025. Venue TBA. *If any unforeseen circumstances arise that prevent the award ceremony from being held in person, it will be conducted virtually instead. Nominees will be informed 45 days prior to the scheduled event.

AWARD CATEGORIES
- Lifetime Achievement Award
Recognizes decades of dedication and impact in the martial arts. Recognizes influence in teaching, mentoring, and spreading the values of martial arts globally.
- Grandmaster/Master of the Year
Recognized for a high-level martial artist with exceptional leadership, skill, and pedigree. Typically 8th Dan Black Belt or higher (varies by system).
Recognizes excellence in teaching, mentoring, and student development. May be subdivided by style (e.g. Taekwondo Instructor of the Year, Kuntaw Instructor, etc.)
- Young Martial Artist/Junior Champion of the Year
Celebrates young practitioners who demonstrate discipline, competitive success, and leadership potential.
- Competitor/Champion of the Year
Recognizes outstanding achievement in martial arts competition. Categories may include disciplines, sparring, weapons, full contact, etc.
- International Ambassador Award
For those who promote martial arts across cultures and borders. Often awarded to traveling instructors or federation officials.
- Ambassador Award

- Humanitarian/Community Service Award
Recognizes martial artists who contribute to the community through outreach, charity, or empowerment.
- Martial Artist of the Year
Broad recognition for overall skill, character, and outstanding contributions made over the past year.
- Hall of Fame Inductees
Recognizes individuals whose cumulative career qualifies them for induction. May include special citations (pioneers, innovators, legends).
- Self-Defense/Tactical Instructor Award.
Honors those who teach realistic combat or self-defense (e.g., Krav Maga, police tactics).
- Martial Arts Innovator/Founder Award.
For creators of new systems, hybrid styles, or significant developments in training methods.
- Martial Arts Media/Promotion Award
Recognizes those who help promote the martial arts through journalism, film, documentaries, or social media.
